Many people are scared of silence because they’re afraid of what they might hear God say to them if they settle down and do nothing. But there’s nothing to be afraid of. Although it may seem awkward at first, if we learn to set aside regular times in our day to get alone and be quiet with God, we’ll hear him whisper wonderful words of encouragement as we travel in our spiritual journey. Give it a try! Start with 10 minutes and work your way up to an amount of time that seems right to you. Try to simply be alone and listen to God.
